The perfect summer day gave way to this fantastic nautical wedding in Lake Geneva.  Outdoor ceremonies are always our favorite, but it was Nicole’s walk down the isle that really caught our eye – she was escorted by one of her sons.  It was a very special moment.  Not to mention, her other son walked down the isle with a ‘Here Comes the Bride’ sign – precious!  Another item that caught our attention was the donated goods table.  Nicole and Jason kindly requested that each guest bring a non-perishable food item to donate.  A very thoughtful idea that we had never heard of before and were so excited about.  The celebration continued aboard the Grand Belle, cruising around Lake Geneva.  The menu was fabulous and the dance floor was moving – literally!  We are so happy for this lovely family.  A very merry congratulations to N&J.  Thanks to you both for creating such a uniquely wonderful day for us to photograph and be a part of.  – S&S

Brittany + Matt

When we got a chance to work with Brittany & Matt on their engagement session last year, we knew that everything about their wedding would be fantastic – and it was. Brittany beamed in the Pnina gown she and her Mother bought at Kleinfeld’s in NYC. She literally said ‘yes to the dress’. It was perfectly accented by a pair of Kate Spade gold mesh heels and a jaw-dropping jeweled belt. A very dapper Matt went with the classic black tie tux and couldn’t have looked more handsome. This classic couple complemented each other beautifully and even threw in a few small touches to personalize their day.  Even Brittany’s wedding gift to Matt, an incredible set of golf clubs, was adorned with a life-like (as life-like as stuffed animal club covers get) club cover of their pup Lily. The heart touching ceremony held at the historic Old St. Mary Parish had everyone sharing the love and joy as well as a few laughs. Matt’s best man Brent kept his duty of protecting the rings very seriously.  Even to the point of reluctantly allowing the priest to bless them before the exchange. The Joan of Arc chapel on the Marquette campus set the perfect backdrop for family formals and intimate portraits after the wedding. With all the formalities involved with tying the knot over with, what better to do next than head over to the Mackie Building’s Grain Exchange room for the evening’s celebration.  As with everything incorporated into their day, their choice of room decor, food (of course you can never go wrong with anything Bartolotta), and music was beautifully thought out and executed. And, as with anything baked and frosted by Aggie’s Cakes, the taste is just as incredible as the appearance. The night was topped off with one of our favorite wedding bands – Dynasty.  Brittany and Matt danced to a great cover of Jennifer Hudson’s “Love You, I Do.” Truly a day to remember. Congratulations to such a wonderful couple.  Brittany & Matt, you are both such a delight to know and work with.  We can’t thank you enough for allowing us to share in this epic event.  Special thanks to Sara and her fabulous team from Golden Chic Events for perfect planning and great execution of this wedding!

Today was a special day for us.  Not only did we celebrate our eleventh anniversary we also witnessed Sharon and Dave tie the knot and thereby putting themselves into the coolest anniversary date category ever (at least in our opinion). The couple pulled out all the stops to make their wedding perfect. Simple details coupled with personal effects gave a distinct ambiance to the entire event. With a common love of all things Brew Crew and enough jerseys for a team, why not get the bridal party in on the fun as well? It really tied in the engagement session theme.  After a touching ceremony and beautiful portraits in Cedarburg the couple threw on the boots and kicked back for a few drinks at one of their favorite saloons. The evening’s festivities started with one of the liveliest grand march champagne toasts. A sparkling shower of sudsy surprise greeted many guests as one couple entered the hall. Sharon’s sister, and maid of honor as well, gave up receiving her master’s degree in person to share in Sharon’s special day. Needless to say, she was speechless when Sharon and Dave performed a mock graduation ceremony to honor her awesome achievement. Guests even threw grad caps while the deejay played the graduation march. Our hearted melted when Sharon and Dave took time out of their wedding celebration to wish us a happy anniversary in front of their guests. It was extremely thoughtful and special – but, that’s just the type of people Sharon and Dave are. Congrats to such a great couple!

Megan + Sam

Working in Door County is always a dream, but working with such a lovely couple is even better.  For years Megan’s family vacationed in the area so it was only appropriate to include such a special event to a long list of amazing memories. The ceremony took place at the historic United Methodist Church in Jacksonport. Megan’s DIY polishings to all things ‘wedding’ were the icing on the proverbial wedding cake in creating a custom event not long forgotten. From the invites, to the centerpieces, to even her own wedding cake – Megan made her vision come to life.  Her short flouncy dress showcased the fantastic stems.  Seriously, those are fabulous shoes! Since Megan is an avid baker, why not make her own wedding cake? It was hands down some of the BEST cake we have ever tasted.  Friends and family kicked the celebration off with lake view cocktails followed by a fantastic dinner.  A stunning sunset and s’mores welcomed the night. With all the love shared and memories made we couldn’t be happier to have been a part of Megan and Sam’s day.

Brooke + Ryan

We love when our couples not only share a special connection with each other but also with the places that hold a significant history that have shaped their lives and continue to do so.  Last year we traveled to Brooke & Ryan’s farm in the Kettle Moraine area to capture their engagement session.  The farm has been in Ryan’s family for years.  We had a blast and were even more excited when we learned that their wedding would take place in the church that borders the southern part of their fields.  Their big day did not disappoint.  A relaxed beginning for the gents at Ryan’s farm and a gathering of the lovely ladies at Brooke’s parents home started the day off right.  Yes, we expected warmer weather, and though we didn’t get our wish, we did receive an overcast sky perfect for our family formals.  There is always a silver lining.  The ceremony was extremely memorable.  The history of the church is tied to Ryan’s own history and the history of many of their guests.  Ryan patiently waited for Brooke to walk up the aisle as their amazing soloist/guitarist serenaded the two with Train’s “Marry Me”.  After the knot had been tied and family formals conquered we escaped, albeit slowly, to the farm with Brooke and Ryan leading the way in what must be the awesomest John Deere tractor we’ve ever seen.  The green and yellow definitely beats our those red sub-par tractors (inside joke).  Though we weren’t able to shoot the dynamic of the farm’s fields flush with crops, we were able to capture the two and their wedding party in their remodeled hay barn (more on that later).  And though the wedding party was a little larger than we typically work with, they were easy going, fun loving, and a blast to watch as they interacted with each other and the couple.  Before they headed to the reception, the couple made a stop at Ryan’s father’s grave with a heartfelt wish he was there – it was very touching.  Then wedding celebration found it’s way to the Colombian for the evening’s festivities.  The large dining tables were adorned with center pieces including the salvaged barn wood from Brooke and Ryan’s barn.  Beautiful speeches and much food and grog were followed by the sweet sounds of Saving Savannah.  It was great working with Brooke and Ryan again as well as all of their friends and family.  We wish them the best in their life together.

Lisa + Tony

We knew after working with Lisa & Tony on their engagement session that their wedding day would be equally fantastic.  There were so many fantastic details and people that made this day so special.  The beautiful spring flowers were the perfect pairing to the ladies dresses.  Lisa was stunning in her layered ruffle gown, while Tony’s Vera Wang suit was especially dapper.  The exchange of letters between the bride and groom was such a sentiment of love captured.  Judge Derek Mosley  couldn’t have created a more perfect ceremony for the couple.  The ‘warming of the rings’ amongst the guests was both unique and heartfelt.  The night topped off with a lineup of beautiful speeches and fantastic dancing.  What a fabulous day to remember!  We were both so honored to share this day with you Lisa & Tony.  Both of you deserve every happiness that is sure to come your way.  Congratulations!

Steven and I are so delighted that The Wedding Chicks wanted to feature Lauren + Jordan’s Pinterest Inspired Vintage Wedding.  Photographing this event was a dream. All of the hard work that the couple put into the details really paid off.  Lauren was such a creative bride and the wedding really showcased that.  Be sure to check out article from the link above and full gallery of images.  Many thanks to Lauren + Jordan for creating a beautiful event to capture.
