Need that jolt every waking second of my life! Oh caffeine, your love is all I fiend.

As I pass the mask, Conrad’s Heart of Darkness comes to mind. Make way for progress at the hand of colonial expansion. Conquer the savages. Deny them their language, their culture, their history. Civilize. Assimilate. Evil and darkness cast out through the hand of the white imperialist. Where are you Kurtz?

If the song begs, “All I need is some inspiration,” you needn’t look further. Sweet Water Organics runs an incredible indoor farm using aquaponics. As the sign says they raise veggies and fish in an incredibly well balanced ecosystem. My thumbs turn green just thinking about all of the ideas for next year’s garden.

The chill is beginning to creep slowly upon us. I guess summer turned its back long enough for autumn to sneak in.

The demise, decay and nutrient depletion of the Acer negundo.

The warmth of an Indian summer passed leaving us shivering in Fall’s embrace. I planned on leaving the furnace off until November. However, with several mornings approaching the low forties and a permanent chill reaching my marrow I changed my mind. “Winter can’t be far off,” the leaves say as they float past my eyes bound for the damp, cool earth below.

I discovered Birchbox and absolutely LOVE it! It’s like getting a birthday present in the mail every month:) For a small fee they will send you 4-5 luxury samples each month. My favs from the Sept. box are the LIV GRN -Earth Eau de Parfum and the Pangea Organics Facial Cream – it feels so great on and the lavender scent is amazing! Steven grabbed some shots of my very first delivery last month – so fun! Sign up today and tell them I sent ya;)

I wanted to take this time to wish my loving husband a happy birthday. Steven, photography is just one of your MANY gifts. I’m so happy to be part of your life and share in such wonderful memories year after year. You are really special. Love you Steven – always:)

Wearing one of his favorite tees. He always says, “This shirt shows that I am formal, but still like to party”. He bought it with the idea he would wear it to weddings – NOT!
We had such a great time running the Race for the Cure! We are so thankful to friends and family who helped support us in our efforts. Thanks again to my hubby Steven for running my first race with me. Oh wait, it was his first race too! Can’t wait to capture his 1st half marathon in the Dells in a few weeks:)

What better way to kick off the 1st of the month than with a fantastic shoot! We had the great opportunity of photographing the very fabulous Moles Orthodontics team. Why so fabulous? Well, for starters, they have one of THE best orthos on the planet – Dr. Randal Moles. Seriously, I searched …and searched… and searched for the best around and he and his staff were, by far, the most impressive. (I actually met with 5 different orthos – yes, I was obsessed with finding the best!). One of the many reasons I chose Dr. Moles was that he offered lingual braces. That’s right! I bet some of you didn’t even know that I have braces on right now!!! Another reason? Compared to others, the treatment time was cut in HALF! In addition to the two other fantastic doctors, Dr. Nicholas Ferri & Dr. Lisa Sanfelippo, and their wonderful group of assistants – this team cannot be beat! Not only are each of them stunning with their gorgeous smiles, they are the nicest group of people… with a lot of patience. I would know as I’m sure I have to be one of their ‘high maintenance’ patients with all of my finickiness. But they always make me very comfortable. Thanks Moles Orthodontics for being your fabulous selves!!!!
P.S. I’ll be sure to post my before and after pics once I am finished with my treatment – can’t wait!
