Another beautiful evening at the Boerner Botanical Gardens. After this shoot, we can’t wait for the couples big day next year.

On an island of almost two million people, how do two people from the same state find each other, fall in love, and eventually decide to get married? Well, with a shared love of Wisconsin’s famed Packers. Breanne and Matt met watching the Pack play at a local watering hole in NYC owned by another Wisconsin native. They hit it off, began dating, and now all is history. We had an amazing day walking the city with the lovely couple, chatting it up, stopping along the way for some shots of the two in action, and ending the night with a fantastic meal. It was like working with old friends we hadn’t seen in some time. We are very excited to capture their upcoming nuptials in September.

Working with this couple was so easy! They were very comfortable in front of the camera and allowed us to capture one of their favorite past times together, playing some b-ball. Can’t wait for their big day next year.
Another new location for us last week! We loved shooting along the bluffs at Lion’s Den Gorge in Grafton. It was an excellent find by the bride to be. After working with this couple we are even more excited for the big day next year!

Sunday, our associate team Jeff and Jan met Katie and Ryan for their engagement session at Milwaukee’s beautiful Lake Park. The images were simply amazing and showcased Katie and Ryan’s love for each other perfectly. We can’t wait to see their wedding pics next month.
There’s something amazing and simply beautiful in some of the smallest, uncomplicated, and basic things we have to say about each other. Since Julie and Chris live where the stars shine big and bright (Texas if you weren’t sure) and we had not had the pleasure of meeting them at our studio, we began corresponding with Julie to set up all the details for their engagement session. It’s nice to know a little about the couple, what they enjoy together, how they met; details of the life they share and the life they intend to build together. After a few lines in the email giving us some background and the activities and interests they share Julie summed everything up so concisely and perfectly, “Not sure what else to tell you….Chris is my best friend and we do everything together.” There’s nothing else needed to be said. Well of course Julie did add, “except watch shoot-em up action movies.” Love is a crazy thing. Anyway, we met our couple, calming their nerves for their upcoming shoot at the Milwaukee Ale House over one of the finer brewed beverages Milwaukee has to offer. Our spring weather may not hold a candle to Texas, but we do brew a fine beer. Once we began walking the Third Ward and stopping at some of our favorite spots it was apparent that either the beer worked or we had two sleepers trying to pull one over on us. They were naturals and had no problem whatsoever in front of the camera. We are extremely excited to work with them again in September.

Last Saturday we kicked off our 2011 Wedding and Engagement season. Yes, the Spottswoods have come out of their hibernation now that the weather is safe again for outdoor photo sessions. To start the season we met up with Sarah and Jeff at one of Milwaukee’s best breweries – Lakefront. Our couple made the journey up from the flat lands of Indiana (I can say that since I lived in central Indiana for a few years), through the Chicago traffic, and to the Brew City for their session. It’s difficult to say how much we enjoyed this session. Sarah and Jeff were naturals in front of the camera. Like everyone, there was a slight learning curve on how to really act “natural,” but once they got it, they shined. They were laid back, didn’t mind our chilly spring weather, and made our jobs easy (thank you). The love between them was more than apparent. Sarah and Jeff’s session has us very excited for what this year has to bring. It’s always great to work with such a nice couple to kick the year off. We wish Sarah and Jeff the best in all aspects of their life together in the years to come.

We always love heading out to our state’s capitol to work with our couples. Michelle and Tony were laid back, easy going, and up for a little hike down State Street; we almost forgot we were shooting an engagement session. Can’t wait to see what their wedding day brings next year.
