State Fair

Here are some pics I found from State Fair last year.  We have created a tradition with our friends, Nina & Geoff, of going to State Fair each year since our lifestyle session with their son, Ty.  (See that session HERE)  Since they just welcomed home a new baby boy this week, Nina & Geoff couldn’t make the trip out with Steven and I tonight.  So here’s a  little remembrance of the good times shared – cream puffs, bacon tots, fried green beans, fresh wisconsin grilled cheese, deep fried oreos, and all!  Man, deep fried oreos… Nina and I were changed women when we discovered those little suckers!)  -Sarah

Mason

It’s always amazing watching our little clients change over their first year of life.  Sometimes kids grow gradually, other times they drastically increase in size overnight leaving parents wondering who swapped out their child for the young tween.  Over the past six months Mason has gone from one of the cutest babies to linebacker for the Green Bay Packers.  And although this guy is destined for the rough and tumble fun accompanied with being a boy, he’s incredibly handsome and tender hearted. Cheeks you just have to squeeze along with his baby blues had us all swooning.  We can’t wait to see what the next few months hold for this little man.

Lauren + Jordan

We’ve been anticipating Lauren and Jordan’s wedding ever since we met them on their lovely engagement picnic shoot.  Set upon the beautiful backdrop of the Lammscapes nursery and gardens, Lauren and Jordan publicly devoted their lives to each other in the late afternoon sun.  The incredible amount of love, thought, and hard work the couple and their families contributed to creating an un-bee-lievable day was astounding.  From handmade bride’s maids dresses to the “Meant to Bee” favor table with a special honey treat for each guest, every detail the couple chose reflected their unique personalities and love for each other.  Lauren’s mother created one of the most beautiful wedding gowns we’ve had the pleasure of photographing.  She took a simple strapless dress and worked her sewing magic to transform it into a piece of art.  Very cool.  The gentlemen looked dapper in their country summer wedding attire; leather suspenders and wingtips for the support team and a linen suit for the man of the hour.  Of course without mentioning the dessert table over-flowing with decadent home made treats, we would’ve failed our blog readers.  The goodies were amazing to say the least.  Chocolate chip cookies with an oreo baked inside?  Yes please!  Lawn games and lemonade provided respite from the heat and activity for everyone.  And though Steve looked as if he jumped into the Lammscapes pond due to the heat, we thoroughly enjoyed our time sharing in the wedding celebration with Lauren, Jordan, their families and friends.  Congrats!

Auntie Mares

We never go a day without being thankful for the job that we have.  Being able to freeze a moment, a memory in time; something you can always look back on and remember just like it was yesterday.  When we have the opportunity to do this for our family it just doesn’t get much better.  My Auntie Mares is a very special person in my life.  I even coined her infamous nickname, Mares.  (Because I couldn’t say (or didn’t want to say) Mary).  I’ve actually been after her to have a portrait taken for years, so I was absolutely elated when she finally decided to do a session with us.  To capture her beauty and infectious laugh was an honor.  Mares = JOY.  Mom and Mares have been best friends for as long as I can remember and the three of us have made some pretty awesome memories together over the years.  Having traveled across the Midwest and even Europe (while living in Belgium), we have shared a TON of incredible (and often extremely hilarious) experiences.  Experiences that have shaped me into the woman I am today.  Auntie Mares, you are as sweet and as funny as they come.  I’m so lucky to have you as my Aunt and I know my Mom treasures you as a sister.  Of course, it goes with out saying that you are loved by all who know you.  You are so very, very special.  Love you.  Always, Sarah

Stella

We’ve known Shannon and her husband Eric for several years now so we were extremely excited to finally meet their new edition, Stella, for a beautiful midsummer family session.   Fiercely independent does not even begin to describe Ms. Stella.  It was almost as if she wanted to scout out and pick the locations for the evening.  She even decided when and where she would have her photo taken with the yellow floral hair band accessory she brought along.  After the discovery of the “Flying Lady” (a hot pink golf ball left lying around) it was over for the adults.  Smiles and every level of adorable came with a one condition – we had to play fetch.  Good thing Stella is still developing her pitching game or we would’ve been running around Trimborn Farm all evening.  It was such a privilege and honor to have the chance to work with the Mayer family again.2013-07-20_0001 2013-07-20_0002 2013-07-20_0003 2013-07-20_0004 2013-07-20_0005 2013-07-20_0006 2013-07-20_0007 2013-07-20_0008

Froh Family

With the ever present threat of rain and an endless onslaught of hungry mosquitoes, we found a break in the clouds and fought back the blood suckers with some repellent from Jamie’s mom stash to have an awesome session with Cayden.  It’s been three months since we first met the little guy and he has definitely grown into quite the charmer in front of the camera.  We’re sure his big sister Maddie, an old pro at these session things, was giving him some inside advice.  At times, It felt as if we had to ask the two of them to turn down the cuteness a notch or two.  Working with the Froh’s is always a treat.  We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our time with them through the years and can’t wait to see how Cayden grows in the next months.2013-07-23_0001 2013-07-23_00042013-07-23_0002 2013-07-23_0003 2013-07-23_0005 2013-07-23_0006 2013-07-23_0007Miss Maddie picked a yellow flower for Sarah’s hair and also found time to assist Steve with the retractable lens wipe over and over again.  2013-07-23_0008 2013-07-23_0009 2013-07-23_0010

Suzie + Cameron

Often the chaos and stress of our everyday non-photographic lives can be slightly overwhelming.  During these times, our work provides a us with relaxing break to reflect on the things that really matter – family, friends, and the one you commit yourself to on your journey through life.  Suzie and Cameron’s wedding was such an event.  Not only were we able to just relax and focus on capturing the nuptials and subsequent portraiture on the beautiful grounds of Boerner Botanical Gardens, but also were able to “hang out” with an incredible couple, their fabulous family and friends.  After working with Suzie, Cameron, and their pup Chewey on their engagement session last year and hearing some of Suzie’s wedding plans we were extremely excited for the big day.  With perfect weather, a stunning backdrop, and a couple whose love radiates and infects all around them, who wouldn’t find the day relaxing and a welcome respite from the daily grind?  We loved Suzie’s gorgeous dress and floral choices.  Nothing beats peonies for a summer wedding bouquet.  Of course we can’t go without mentioning the awesome tuxedo and tie choice for the gentlemen – the perfect ensemble for a mid-summer wedding.  Congrats Suzie and Cameron, we had such a blast working with you and and wish you the best in the new life you’ve created.

Maggie and Grace

From the moment we first worked with Anne and Sean on their engagement session at Miller Brewery, we knew just how fun they were to work with. Their beautiful wedding at Cuvee proved it again. So when Sean asked us to travel to Anne’s family lake house in Westfield for a double family session we jumped at the opportunity.  Meeting their daughter Maggie was reminiscent of the first time we met her parents. Bright smiles and full of love. Maggie’s cousin Grace is only a few months older than her so they are grandfathered into being best friends for life! Capturing this session for this family was very special. On our 2 hour drive home we couldn’t help but talk about how happy we were for Anne & Sean and the beautiful family they have created.

Tiffany + Jason

We had such a great time meeting and getting to know Tiffany and Jason earlier this year on their engagement session.  After 14 years together and a beautiful daughter on the way, Tiffany and Jason finally decided to make their love and commitment to each other official.  During their intimate ceremony at the Riveredge Nature Center, there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd.  The happiness and joy of the day was palpable.  A perfect day and location to tie the knot.  Despite the emotion of the day, there were also moments of hilarity.  Tiffany’s father walked her down the aisle – one hand holding her and one hand holding a shotgun!  Everyone had a laugh.  Congratulations Tiffany and Jason, we’re extremely happy for you both and can’t wait to meet your new addition!  A very special thank you to Tiffany’s best friend, Alexis Deblitz (also one of our former brides).  Lexie, thank you so much for introducing us to this lovely couple… and always singing our praises.

Katie + Matt

Last Saturday we had the distinct honor of witnessing Katie and Matt publicly devote their life to another.  We’ve been more than excited for their special day since our first meeting with Matt, Katie, and her parents last year.  The significant and symbolic details Katie and Matt incorporated into their day not only created an unforgettable event unique to them, but also reflected their thoughtfulness, love for each other, and connection to the people closest to them.  Seeing first hand the simple touches and subtle glances Katie and Matt shared throughout the day made our jobs highly rewarding.  From the insanely gorgeous floral designs and presentation to the charcoal tuxedos with gingham ties – everything fit perfectly for this June wedding.  The beauty of the entire event was incredible and extremely well thought out by Katie and Matt.  We couldn’t be more excited for the wonderful first step they’ve taken on their journey together.  Congrats Katie and Matt!
