We love when our couples not only share a special connection with each other but also with the places that hold a significant history that have shaped their lives and continue to do so.  Last year we traveled to Brooke & Ryan’s farm in the Kettle Moraine area to capture their engagement session.  The farm has been in Ryan’s family for years.  We had a blast and were even more excited when we learned that their wedding would take place in the church that borders the southern part of their fields.  Their big day did not disappoint.  A relaxed beginning for the gents at Ryan’s farm and a gathering of the lovely ladies at Brooke’s parents home started the day off right.  Yes, we expected warmer weather, and though we didn’t get our wish, we did receive an overcast sky perfect for our family formals.  There is always a silver lining.  The ceremony was extremely memorable.  The history of the church is tied to Ryan’s own history and the history of many of their guests.  Ryan patiently waited for Brooke to walk up the aisle as their amazing soloist/guitarist serenaded the two with Train’s “Marry Me”.  After the knot had been tied and family formals conquered we escaped, albeit slowly, to the farm with Brooke and Ryan leading the way in what must be the awesomest John Deere tractor we’ve ever seen.  The green and yellow definitely beats our those red sub-par tractors (inside joke).  Though we weren’t able to shoot the dynamic of the farm’s fields flush with crops, we were able to capture the two and their wedding party in their remodeled hay barn (more on that later).  And though the wedding party was a little larger than we typically work with, they were easy going, fun loving, and a blast to watch as they interacted with each other and the couple.  Before they headed to the reception, the couple made a stop at Ryan’s father’s grave with a heartfelt wish he was there – it was very touching.  Then wedding celebration found it’s way to the Colombian for the evening’s festivities.  The large dining tables were adorned with center pieces including the salvaged barn wood from Brooke and Ryan’s barn.  Beautiful speeches and much food and grog were followed by the sweet sounds of Saving Savannah.  It was great working with Brooke and Ryan again as well as all of their friends and family.  We wish them the best in their life together.
