It’s hard to believe these handsome young gentlemen are a year old already.  They’ve come so far from the first time we met them. They have grown so much and both have very unique personalities. It was difficult to tell who had more fun at the birthday party – Nolan and Landon or the photographers. Happy Birthday Nolan and Landon. We had such a great time on your special day.

It was simply wonderful to meet Mr. Cole Wiedmeyer. This guy was more than a trooper for his very first session. Cole arrived into this world May 19th. Hard to believe he’s already this big.

We met Bev and Dave back in the fall of 2007 (it seems like forever ago and just yesterday all in the same breath) and shot their engagement session and their wedding the following year.  We loved working with such an easy going couple excited to have their portraits and wedding captured by us.  It didn’t hurt that they were naturals in front of the camera, willing to smile at the drop of a hat.   And no, that is Dave, not Chris Isaak – though they do look alike.

Anyway, last April Bev and Dave contacted us wondering if we were available for Bev’s maternity shoot.   We were elated that they were expanding their family and felt honored to help capture those first memories of their daughter’s life.  Mya arrived in May of 2010 and has hit the ground running since.  Our first shoot with Mya was a blast.  Bev and Dave looked slightly concerned with how we stuffed their precious newborn daughter into a hot pink baby wrap and began manipulating her to our liking (there really is a science to shooting a newborn).  Their concerns melted away when we assured them we do this on a regular basis and the babies actually don’t mind – so long as they’re fast asleep.  Well, Mya did grow and grow and we had the honor of seeing her development first hand.  You can see her throughout her first year here.  Of all the sessions we shoot, none hold a candle to a baby’s first year.  We are always awestruck at seeing the miracle of life form and grow right before our eyes.  Watching a family grow, not only physically, but also in the size of the love they share for each other, is one of the best perks of being a photographer.

Its been almost four years since we met Kevin, Beth, and their daughter Amelia.  We had the privilege of documenting Amelia’s first year of life of life as well as a second year session. Now the Fuhrman’s have added a new little guy to their family – Colin. This little man is literally all smiles – well, as long as he has his monkey by his side. Amelia is also such a wonderful big sister. There was always a hug and an eagerness to pose with her little brother no matter what was going on or where Colin was running off to. It was also great to see Kevin and Beth. They definitely have their hands full, but are blessed to have such a great family. As always we are honored to document and capture the memories of a growing family throughout the years.

This week we met Mr. George Owen Mattson.  His parents, Nicole and Jesse met and heard of us through her brother Steve and his wife Lori (thanks guys!).  We had the honor of shooting Steve and Lori’s engagement and wedding as well as newborn photos their baby girl, Sonja.  Nicole saw the pics and wanted the same star treatment for her baby boy.  Little George Owen decided to arrive a little earlier than expected – April 10th at 11:47pm. Mom and Dad were hoping for a 4/11/11 birthday, but George just couldn’t wait.  He weighed 7lbs and measured 19″ tall.  He did soooo well on his first shoot with us – even flashing a few smiles along the way.  Congrats to the new parents, Nicole & Matt.  We cannot wait to work with this sweet family again soon.

By the way… how is everyone liking the posting of more images than just a slideshow???

It’s always very close to our hearts when we get to capture our wedding couple’s children.  Nina and Geoff’s son is an absolute doll.  This was actually the first session this year where we were able to go outside and enjoy some of the (somewhat) spring weather.  It never ceases to amaze us at how much these little ones grow from one session to the next.  Just look at how much Ty has sprouted since our last encounter.

On St. Patty’s Day, one of our favorite families welcomed a new little bundle of joy.   Remember her big sister, Addison?  Such a beautiful family.  Congrats to Kirstin & Dan!!!

Last June we worked with one of our favorite couples, Lori and Steve. Their wedding was one of the most memorable events we’ve had the privilege to shoot. So, when we heard of Sonja’s arrival we were ecstatic with anticipation for her first shoot. She was such a joy to work with. However, like all of our young divas she did take some time to warm up to us as well as the strange surroundings here at the studio. I guess our craft services aren’t like the ones at home. It was great seeing Lori and Steve again and a pleasure welcoming Sonja to their family.

Mya Zukowski is such a doll! We always enjoy capturing this family.  Can’t wait for her 1 year mark!
