Everly

10 Months | Hartford Portrait Photographer

It’s been a while since we worked with this little lady… remember?  She has grown into quite the beauty!  It’s always great working in our favorite field at that special time of day when the light is just so warm and buttery!!!  I loved Kelly’s Etsy purchases (cute shoes and headband) – so adorable!  We can’t wait for Everly’s big 1st birthday in a few months.

Ty’s First Birthday Party

Ziesemer Residence | 10.22.11 | Sussex Portrait Photographer

We couldn’t have felt more honored to attend this little guys birthday bash!  We were so spoiled to have been able to photograph Ty again just earlier that week for his formal 1st year portrait session.  This time we were able to focus on family, friends, and follow Ty through his first experience as a birthday boy.  Seeing a child with their grandparents is always awesome.  Nina’s Dad even dressed up as Elmo!  The love that surrounded this little boy was palpable.  It’s incredible to us how much kids change within their first year and we just LOVE watching & capturing it happen.  The thing we like most about photographing 1st birthday parties is that it really brings all of the sessions from the first year together full circle!  Thanks again to our friends Nina & Geoff – we are so happy for you two proud parents.  Happy Birthday Ty Bear!   Love, S+S

Christine

10.21.11 | Milwaukee Acting Headshot Photographer

As some of you know, Steven and do a little on camera work (ie. my Fleet Farm commercial) :) .  So while on a job for Colombia College I met another actress, Christine.  You may recognize her from her Adelman commercial (see below).  She was awesome to work with – sooo hilarious, we had a blast!  It just so happened that she was in need of some updated photos for her portfolio and so she choose to hire us!!!  I was so excited at the opportunity of working with her and really hope to do so again soon:)  Thanks again Christine!!!

P.S.  Yes, that is our very own Monamie making her modeling debut!

Minnie + Chris

Mitchell Park Domes | 10.20.11 | Milwaukee Engagement Photographer

We love shooting at the Domes!!!  It’s the perfect spot for when the weather doesn’t cooperate.  So we were excited when Minnie & Chris were open to the idea when it was raining on their engagement session date.  It was great working with this lovely couple.  We can’t wait for their big day next fall.

Day 176: Tighter than two coats

Cadmium yellow was a favorite for some time.  The taste -  sweet, metallic, creamy.  Just like biting into a marshmallow chick you’d get in your seasonal Easter aisle.  Twist the brush between your lips to get that fine point while adding just enough saliva so as not to diminish the vibrancy needed.  Wonder how the white tastes?  Once you add the fine details of light hitting the subject you’ll experience the taste.  Just watch for the lead content.  Don’t want to end up like some one-eared, post-impressionist, Dutch painter.

Ty

Wildcat Habitat Preserve | Hartford, WI

It is always so awesome for us to photograph a couple’s engagement session, their big wedding day, the baby bump session, their new born child’s first year of life.  We were lucky enough to share these moments/sessions with Nina and Geoff and have become friends over the years.  I know that I have said this before, but I cannot tell you enough how rewarding it is for us to capture these life moments for people – let alone our friends.  I actually got a little teary eyed when I was going through these photos because it’s so awesome to have created pictures like this of a child and his family, knowing that one day they will all look back on them and treasure these moments.  Today we get to witness and capture Ty’s 1st birthday party!  We can’t wait!  Another huge thank you to our parents, Nina & Geoff – we are so lucky to have you as our clients and our friends.  Love, Steve & Sarah

Day 174: What a turn on

The priorities keep changing as the list continues to grow.  Something about a gutter scratched out with a carpenter’s pencil is followed by check furnace, fix stove, and that old bush – unearth it.  To do.  Two due.  Too dew.  It’s all the same, I just spell it M-O-R-E  W-O-R-K.

Day 173: Take two and call me in the morning

I’m at this spot once, twice, maybe three times a week and still have no idea what the 2 means.  I think I’ll keep it that way.
