Day 90: Energy Crisis

About of a quarter of the way through the 3-6-5 project.  Some days I feel like I don’t find the time, lack the energy, or just plain forget to take a photo, edit, and blog it until the last minute.  Some days an energy crisis abounds and I’m stuck taking a picture of an electrical outlet at nine-thirty in the evening.  I think I can, I think I can.  Another nine months left and this will be second nature to me.

Day 89: Brightening the Room

Amazing what a simple bouquet of flowers do for a room.

Kari + Alan

Mount Mary College | Milwaukee Wedding Photographer

After meeting with Kari and Alan at our Mini-Session event in the beginning of July we knew we’d have a blast at their wedding. They compliment each other perfectly and with their great sense of humor had us constantly smiling and laughing. The wedding was held on the beautiful grounds of Mount Mary College – Kari’s alma mater. Even though the oppressive heat of last week had yet to abate and the chapel lacked air conditioning, both Kari and Alan stayed cool and clam while every one seemed to sweat bullets (even our cameras were sweating). We wish the best to Kari and Alan on the journey they are now embarking on.

Breanne + Matt

New York City | New York Engagement Photographer

On an island of almost two million people, how do two people from the same state find each other, fall in love, and eventually decide to get married? Well, with a shared love of Wisconsin’s famed Packers. Breanne and Matt met watching the Pack play at a local watering hole in NYC owned by another Wisconsin native. They hit it off, began dating, and now all is history. We had an amazing day walking the city with the lovely couple, chatting it up, stopping along the way for some shots of the two in action, and ending the night with a fantastic meal. It was like working with old friends we hadn’t seen in some time. We are very excited to capture their upcoming nuptials in September.

Day 88: Hop to it

Time to start harvesting the hops.  Should be a fine Pale Ale come October.

Day 27: Leaf in the page

The wonderful expression of life that spring and summer bring with them.  I am already in mourning; fall is coming soon.

Day 86: Find them in the Stairs

Often times while working, we wonder what our pups are up to.  Are they chewing pillows, napping on the couch, plotting to take over the world?  No.  They’re sitting awkwardly on the stairs watching shadows dance on the wall from cars passing by.

Day 85: Body and Blood

We are certainly a ritualistic species.  Our daily lives abound with them.  They become priorities, major events, ways to redeem our souls.  Sometimes it’s the ritual itself for its own sake that holds the importance and not what it signifies or represents.

Day 84: Somniferous Dreams

Dreaming of cooler days, where there’s an escape from the sun’s relentless rays.  Damn it!  It’s hot!  Hot enough to melt away any semblance of dignity with this sweat drenched shirt.

Day 83: Amber Waves

I love the fields of grain when they turn gold before begging to be harvested.
