Day 33: Pucker Up

Ah, the unofficial start of summer has finally arrived.  Planting veggies in the sun and running afterward in the sun has turned me into a tasty crustacean.  Good thing the raspberry-lemonade flavored vodka was flowing.  When life gives you lemons, add vodka.  Right?

Oprah’s Favorite Gift

Photography

Check out the video!  I caught this on the Nate Berkus show this morning and absolutely had to share!  For the woman who has EVERYTHING, photos are her most prized possession.  The album featured here is just like our own fine art albums that we offer.  No matter what it is that you love – dogs, kids, family, your significant other, etc – who wouldn’t want this beautiful album to showcase your loved ones!

This is the perfect time to schedule a session or take advantage of our Mini-Session offer – see you soon ;) .

Day 32: Under the Acer

I awoke from a dream into another dream while under the Acer.  The leaves shaded my journey from slumber to sleep to dream and back again.  Summer beat me to the punch, waking before I could enjoy her warm embrace and subtle shades of green and red.  In the dream we march towards the solstice, flags at hand, waving in the evening breeze.  I awake from under the Acer, its sweet scent warning me of spring’s demise.

Loving Mom

My dear friend, Carol (from Artists Eyes Photography) took these great shots of Mom and I during a trunk show she held at her studio.  Thanks again Carol – you are such a sweetheart!

I love you Mom.  You are a beautiful person inside and out.  I’m very proud of you.  You continue to show strength and grace.  I’m so honored to call you my friend, my true friend -  one of the best anyone could ever ask for.  I treasure each memory we make together.  Thanks for being you.  You are very special to me, to all of us :)

Always, Sarah

Day 31: The Red Hot Machinist

The gears of war turn lazily.  The machinist greases its chain.  Each drop fed from the lives of its damned.

Day 30: The March of the Allium

Two days behind in my postings.  I can’t make any excuses for my procrastination.  However, the project labors on and is still on task.  This really marks the end of the first month of daily shots for no apparent reason what-so-ever other than for artistic posterity.  Cheers.

Day 29: On the alleviation of sorrows

Don’t worry.  Ninety-eight of his comrades were treated with the same regard.

What does a Mini Session Include?
Photography by Steven & Sarah
Online Proofs

When & Where?
July 2nd (July 3rd as rain date)
Photographed in our fabulous red chair
Set in our favorite field in Hartford
(as shown in image above)

How does a mini session differ from a full session?
A mini is an abbreviated session. A compact version, if you will. Where a full session is about 60 minutes in length, photographed at your location of choice, with a wide variety of poses, multiple lifestyle settings, and about 100 online proofs.  Mini sessions are conducted at a specific location chosen by us, are 15 minutes in length, focusing on perfecting a single pose/lifestyle setting, and includes about 20 online proofs.

Who would want a mini-session?
Anyone who needs an updated photo!  Whether it’s a new headshot for your facebook profile, a nice portrait of you and yours to make you fall in love all over again, or a shot of a beloved pet to remember them by…  who wouldn’t want a CURRENT photo of themselves, a family member, or even the entire family together.  Not to mention the kiddos… there isn’t a day that goes by that they don’t change before your eyes.  Capture at least a moment of that to hold on to.  Don’t forget the furry friends – pets are welcome!  These sessions also make the perfect gift.  It’s a great way for new clients to try Spottswood Photography.

Katie + Ryan

Lake Park, Milwaukee | Engagement Session

Sunday, our associate team Jeff and Jan met Katie and Ryan for their engagement session at Milwaukee’s beautiful Lake Park. The images were simply amazing and showcased Katie and Ryan’s love for each other perfectly. We can’t wait to see their wedding pics next month.

Day 28: The license plate said fresh and had dice in the mirror

I love urban decay.  It always reminds me that on a large enough time scale, the idea of permanence is an illusion.  As a child I envisioned the world as a static place – never changing, always staying the way I remember and how I experienced it.  Oh to stay that naive.  Anyway, I pass this dying (could already be dead) used car dealership on an almost daily basis always wondering what life used to animate it.  I can just picture a gentleman wearing a plaid leisure suit huryring out to greet you while you kick the tires of the ‘78 Eldorado on the lot.

“This one’s a beauty,” he says slicking his hair back and adjusting his gold pinky ring.  His pomade smells of desperation.
